The DMCSP application is available online to eligible students in participating high schools. Students must obtain log-on information and instructions from their guidance counselor. Check the list to see if your school participates!
Here’s what to do:
- Ask your counselor for the deadline date and your log-on credentials
- Complete the online application following the counselor’s instructions
- Print the application
- Sign the back of the application
- Your parent/guardian must also sign the application if you are under age 18
- Take the application to your counselor along with a copy of your FAFSA Submission Summary page from the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). You must have the page showing the Student Aid Index (SAI) or your application cannot be processed. You can find more information at www.fafsa.ed.gov/
- Also bring a copy of the acceptance letter from the college you listed as your first choice on the application.
- Counselors will upload applications to DMCSP. Students cannot upload applications.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
You must file the FAFSA form and receive your FAFSA Submission Summary showing the SAI (Student Aid Index) from FAFSA before you can complete the application. Keep in mind that the time it takes to file the FAFSA and receive your SAR could be several weeks. It is imperative that you file the FAFSA as soon as possible. In most years, the Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program recommends filing the FAFSA by December 1.
