Help us Help Students of Montgomery County Achieve Their Dream of a College Education
Since 1981, the Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program (DMCSP) has administered scholarships that have helped thousands of students from Montgomery County achieve their dream of attending the college of their choice. Initially the program served only students in the Dayton City Schools. Today, DMCSP serves students in all sixteen school districts in Montgomery Country, as well as private school systems. In all, 29 high schools currently participate.
Funding for the Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program has come from generous and caring individuals who believe in the importance of a college education. There is overwhelming evidence that graduating seniors from Montgomery County need financial help in order to pursue post-secondary education. Ohio ranks in the bottom 12 states in BA degree attainment, and the percentage of Ohio students going on to college is below the national average.
Through the mindful stewardship of the dollars that have been received over the years, the Dayton-Montgomery County Scholarship Program has provided achieving students with the opportunity to receive financial assistance to attend a two- or four-year college or university. Any graduating senior in Montgomery County is eligible to apply, and awards are based upon need with a qualifying requirement of a 2.75 GPA or better. Students attending a 4-year college/university will receive an award of $5,000 (over four years). Students attending a 2-year college will receive an award of $500 (over two years). Since its inception, DMCSP has awarded over $23,900,000 to over 21,500 students.
